Golden Flower T'ai Chi Center

612 N. Trade St.

The Golden Flower T'ai Center, located in the Winston-Salem Downtown Art District at 612 Trade Street, offers a wealth of activities and information for healthy, happy living. A regular schedule of T'ai Chi classes accommodates all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. In addition, the Center often hosts special workshops by noted martial arts practitioners from around the world and other special activities, including an annual T'ai Chi Retreat. Classes are taught and/or supervised by Annukka Holland, Senior Instructor, and Master San Gee Tam, who has been teaching T'ai Chi for over 30 years and was himself taught by some of the greatest T'ai Chi and spiritual masters of this era.

The Bubbling Well Tea and Tonic Bar , located in the front of the Center, offers fine teas, smoothies, Chinese herbal tonic drinks and other delights to tickle your palate. There is also a store with an impressive supply of high-quality supplements as well as exercise apparel, books, and videos. In addition to T'ai Chi classes, the Center also has a regular schedule of African Drumming classes, led by Bill Scheidt of Living Rhythms. Wendi Mason, of the Indigo Bead Studio in Greensboro, has opened a mini-bead store in the front of the Golden Flower Center and will be giving beading classes.

ALBAN ELVED DANCE COMPANY

Contact: Karola Lüttringhaus

Phone: 336-409 5096

ALBAN ELVED DANCE COMPANY/Karola Lüttringhaus is an international and interdisciplinary professional performing dance company with non-profit 501-c-3 status. Ms Lüttringhaus's work is fiercely physical, tracing the changeable electricity of thought and sensation that underlies human interaction and interpersonal relationships. "....marked by an unpretentious athleticism and a philosophic quality. ... the dances are closely reasoned sequences that exploit the physics of movement for its emotional resonance. Not pretty but often beautiful, Luttringhaus' dances depend on the proud power and flexibility of the dancers' bodies - and their joint and mutual willingness to risk themselves." (review by the Classical Voice North Carolina)
