Shimmy Shack
A belly dance studio

Learn to belly dance at the Shimmy Shack. Why belly dance? It¹s just plain fun. Laughter rings through the classroom as women learn to execute head slides and the genie, all the while getting their bodies into better shape.
Suddenly getting fit is fun again. This dance is suitable for women of all ages, all body types, and all fitness levels. No prior dance experience is necessary.

Beginner classes are offered on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM.
Intermediate choreography classes are offered on Wednesdays at 7:10 PM.

Performances can be seen during First Friday Gallery Hops throughout the summer.

Instructors of other art forms (and workshop hosts) are invited to check out the studio for available times.

We are located in the Domicile Building, on the right hand side of Trade Street   as you walk from 6th to 7th. You'll see the giant "ARTS" mural on the side of the building as you approach. Once there, allow some time to browse - you'll find Timothy Nichols Designs, Domicile Gallery, Hanberry's, Yoga Gallery, and Young's Vintage Home & Garden. The building is also home to the local publication "Domicile." If you need a gift, design ideas, or just want to enjoy some window shopping, you will find the building a worthy destination.
